Language Access Program

At the Somali Community of Louisville, we believe language should never be a barrier to opportunity, safety, or belonging. Our Language Access Program opens doors for Somali, immigrant, and refugee families to fully engage in community life.

Why It Matters

Language is more than words — it is connection, dignity, and equity. Yet limited English proficiency often blocks access to vital services. Whether in schools, healthcare, legal systems, or businesses, clear communication is essential. Our program provides expert translation, interpretation, and multilingual support so every community is served with respect.

What We Do

Interpretation Services: Helping families communicate with schools, healthcare providers, legal systems, and service agencies.
Document Translation: Making forms, applications, and resources accessible in the languages families understand best.
Advocacy & Training: Partnering with agencies to improve policies and build culturally responsive practices.

Our Impact

We equip families to access education, healthcare, employment, and civic life with confidence and dignity. For us, language access is not just a service — it is a pathway to equity and inclusion.
